Korean Foods I Want to Try

It’s kimchi. I just want to eat a ton of kimchi ๐Ÿ˜

But in all seriousness, when I watch my Korean soaps, I often see these foods come up time and time again, and I am so curious about them! The first one is…

Marinated Crab

I saw these on Because This is My First Life and other soaps. The ones I’ve seen look homemade and soft and so very yummy!

Spicy spongy rice cakes ๐Ÿ˜ I sort of, kind of tried it before, but I image it’s just not the same microwaved like that. I want the real thing! So, I am still hungry for ddukbokki!

Korean Chicken Feet

In Puerto Rico we eat pig’s feet, which was weird enough to my American friends, but I have seen the actors eat chicken feet in my soaps! I’ve never tried this in my life, but I think I’d like it ๐Ÿ˜Š

I need to find a really good Korean restaurant near me. Maybe that should be one of my summer goals!

์•ˆ๋…•! Bye! Ciao!

Have a wonderful week!

  1. These are all great. Canโ€™t go wrong with Korean food. Personally I like my chicken feet spicy and crispy.

As for pigsโ€™ trotters, Korea has ์กฑ๋ฐœ (literally meaning pig foot). I would say however that pork belly (์‚ผ๊ฒน์‚ด, ์˜ค๊ฐ‘์‹œ์˜ค) or neck meat ๋ชฉ์‚ด is a lot more common for many Koreans on a night out. ํ‘๋ผ์ง€ in particular are sought after, the ones from ์ œ์ฃผ๋„ even more so.

As for โ€˜unusualโ€™ food items, thereโ€™s also ๋ฒˆ๋Œ€๊ธฐ- steamed silk larva, not my personal taste. Up until a few years ago, you could get dog meat too but itโ€™s been outlawed by the government. I tried it back in the day and didnโ€™t enjoy the taste.

    • I’ve been looking for Korean pork belly near me, but so far have only found American BBQ places that have it. That one is also on my list, though ๐Ÿ˜‰

That is so cool that you get to eat all these foods!! ๐Ÿ˜ญ I think that’s just so awesome ๐Ÿ™‚

I looked up ๋ฒˆ๋ฐ๊ธฐ. Oh… I couldn’t do it, either! Maybe if it didn’t look the way it does. I’ll pass on that, too. I couldn’t do dog, either. That’s a little too far outside the culture(s) I’m used to.

But again, I think it’s so nice you get to experience Korea! I hope you’re enjoying your life to the fullest and having fun, especially now that the world seems to be getting back to normal ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ

      • No way back to normal over here. Still crisis mode. Vaccinations are painfully slow – only for the elderly and maybe 10 percent have received their first dose. Glad to hear things are looking up on your end x

      • Oh, no. I’m sorry to hear that ๐Ÿ’” I thought things were improving worldwide, but I guess everywhere is different.

Thanks, and I hope things get better for you and yours soon!
