I Changed the News I Watch…

I used to not think about the news I was consuming. I watched whatever, and of course, everything turned to the political. You know, the usual back and forth between political parties, each side calling the other side names, everybody acting crazy πŸ‘

So, yeah, I didn’t think much about the news I watched.

Until there was a lion.

A mountain lion, that is. I took a look at the local news, and saw there was a mountain lion in someone’s garage not far from where I live. They grow to more than 8 feet in length. Average weight is 150 pounds. That’s almost the size of a female lion in sub-Saharan Africa!

I couldn’t find an image of a person standing next to a mountain lion with the lion still alive, but they’re about the size of a grown man but much more powerful than a man, obviously. Here’s a smaller one being escorted away:

“Unhand me at once!”

Don’t try that at home ☝️ That thing is sedated.

I had to ask myself: Do I really need to know about the latest cancellation, or award shows, or political mud-slinging… or about lions prowling my streets!! 🀣

oh, hi kitty

It was a bit of a wakeup call that I could tell you every dumb thing certain politicians used to say… but not whether I could run into a freaking lion outside my own door 😱

My priorities quickly changed. And that’s why I changed the news I watch! 😁 Local, local, local!

μ•ˆλ…•! Bye! Ciao!

Take care!

    • Yeah, it was crazy! Some people leave their cars out and use their garage as storage or hobby places, and leave the garage door open. Then the wildlife says, “free apartment”!

The city sent someone and everyone (including the mountain lion) was safe, but yikes, it happened close enough to freak me out! πŸ˜†

  1. When we lived in Colorado, there were many mountain lion sightings in our area. We were always careful and on the lookout for them. Very wise to know what’s going on in your local area, especially with Colorado wildlife. Stay safe! God bless!

  2. That looks like a sweet little pussycat! Wouldn’t harm a thing. 🀣 I agree with you. I do keep up with the news just to make sure I know generally what’s going on but I do limit my news intake. It’s probably best for all our mental health – regardless of political spectrum we’re on!

    • Hahaha They’re gorgeous, just also very scary πŸ˜…

Absolutely! It can’t be good for mental health to get upset all the time. That’s probably why it feels so nice to disconnect and relax 😊

      Enjoy your weekend!
