Um… They have candy crosses for Easter at the Dollar Tree.

I didn’t buy any. I don’t think I could bring myself to sit there and eat… the cross π

Have a wonderful weekend!

Theyβve had crosses like that for as long as I can remember. The church we went to in my youth gave children chocolate marshmallow crosses on Easter. I think they thought it was better than giving chocolate bunnies!

This was my first time seeing them. Someone somewhere thought it was a good idea, I’m just not so sure π

Yah, definitely a faux pass! At least there was no person on the chocolate cross, cuz that wouldβve been even more wrong! π€£

I suppose it’s more the idea of giving somebody a gift that has a symbol of what Easter is about. Perhaps a sense of passing the religious message of Easter to children who are still getting chocolate from it but a little insight into what it’s all about. … I have never seen anything like that in England though!

The box is so pretty, I’m sure whoever made it had good intentions π I appreciate their effort!

If you think that’s blasphemous, I’ve heard stories about chocolate Jesuses made for Easter… though I have yet to actually see one. We’ve always sold the chocolate crosses at my store, though…

Oh, my goodness Yikes π¬ In a way, I think the idea comes from a good place, but in practice… I don’t think I can eat Jesus-shaped chocolate…
Have you heard of King Cake? It’s a Mardi Gras cake with a baby Jesus inside. I had it for the first time last year and I was so confused π My husband is from Louisiana, so he already knew about it. I didn’t. Blew my mind!

I had the exact same thought when I saw a chocolate cross at my local ice cream shop. Good intentions, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable eating it.

I think they’re counting on people’s not thinking about it. And with most people, they’re probably right.
