Well, guys. I just discovered K-pop, so you’ll probably never see or hear from me again π Hahaha I’ve been binge-watching so many awesome videos!
Truth is, it’s been snowy, cloudy, and in the negatives here in Colorado, so I haven’t been able to blog about the feminine/modest outfits I had planned. It’s too cloudy to take good pictures.
I’m still going to blog about going from jeans to mostly skirts, and also how I re-did my wardrobe inexpensively π
But for now, since I can’t take pictures due to lighting, I’ll share instead photos of my Korean practice. I’m getting pretty good at coming up with my own sentences! I want to write a poem in Korean, which is what I’ll be working on next β€οΈ

My first full sentence in Korean was “Cookies are delicious” π I did it without looking at my workbooks! It just popped in my head and I wrote it in my diary.

I like my Korean handwriting π

I’m looking forward to sunny skies and warmer weather! π Thanks for reading!
μλ ! Bye! Ciao!

That’s really cool! God bless!

You are amazing! In Korean do you write left to right or top to bottom? I have listened to K-Pop in both Korean (which I do not understand) and in English it’s catchy with nice beats and rhythms. Stay warm my friend. It is snowing and sleeting like crazy here.

Thanks so much, my friend π In Korean you write left to right like the West, though from what I understand it used to be top to bottom. K-pop is suuuper catchy, I’m enjoying it β€οΈ
Oh, boy. I am so ready for spring! Sounds super cold there, too. It snowed quite a bit here. My dog is ready for spring too π

I just spent the last 1.5 hours shoveling! I am now going to do nothing. That was some of the heaviest, iciest snow we’ve had in a long time!

Really, Yari, taking on a language such as Korean is quite the undertaking. Glad to see you’re making progress, and can’t wait to read your first all-Korean-language blog. (Of course, you’d have to translate, thereby meaning it would no longer be an all-Korean-language blog!)

Thanks so much, Mr. David π It’s both fun and frustrating π Hahaha I’ll make sure I translate if I do!

Your penmanship looks very neat! Iβm surprised you just got into K-Pop given you like K-Drama. Itβs pretty big here. Our little T likes BlackPink. Enjoy!

Thank you π I don’t now why, I just hadn’t given K-pop a try before. Now I love it π Ooo BlackPink sounds familiar. I think I’ve heard some of that.

Haha what are your kpop favourites?
Iβm the worst immigrant in that I just cannot get into it but I remember liking 2ne1βs Iβm the best (λ΄κ° μ μΌ μ λκ°).
Also about that μΈμ¬νμΈμ. Are you telling someone else to say hi?
Eg my sister in law will tell her kids to greet the hubster and me when we get in if theyβre busy playing on their bloody mobile phones / tablets / Nintendo switch (kids and technology – a rant for another day haha). Sheβll tell them, μΌ, μΈμ¬! Or μλ€μ, μΌμ΄ μ€μ ¨λ€. μΈμ¬νμΈμ!

No K-pop?? They might kick you out of the country π Hahaha I’ve been listening a lot to a guy named Kai. I’m learning to sing his song, “Mmm” because it’s repetitive and simple. Oh and super catchy π
Yes, it’s say hello! Between my workbook and my learning app, I pick up random stuff like that. I learned to say “ν” when surprised and “λ¬Έμ μμ΄μ” π Ooo I understood μΌμ΄ from your sentence π Are you fluent in Korean?

Waiting for immigration to come knocking down my door any day now π€£
Pretty much conversationally / functionally fluent but I canβt read novels for adults quite yet and many movies also prove too difficult.

That’s really good! I think with time you’ll naturally get to do those things π because that sounds a lot like me learning English. I couldn’t do novels or understand if someone spoke too fast, which was most movies. Then one day, I realized I could.

Wow! You are really good at Korean!! Even for Korean, I think it is really difficult language to learn.

Maybe it’s time to revisit Korean? π I started learning because I watch a lot of K-dramas and Korean TV, and I want to be able to do it without subtitles. Now I’m into K-pop too. hahaha

Ahh I used to watch a bunch of kdramas too.! Iβve been thinking to watch one again but havenβt found one that looks good. The last one I watched was Abyss. Are you currently watching one?

I just watched “Because This is my First Life” and “Beauty Inside,” both really good! If you’re looking for a shorter one, around 15-30 minute episodes, “Kiss Goblin” and “Wednesday at 3:30pm” are both super cute, funny, and romantic! π

Thank you! I watch a lot of Korean TV and would like to watch it without subtitles.
Also, I used to be a translator (English/Spanish) and being able to help people in their own language is incredibly rewarding and helpful for them. It was very nice being able to help people who otherwise felt a little lost and frustrated. (I felt that way too before I learned English.)
So… that’s why π
