I try to update my phone number on Amazon online, but they want to send a verification code to my old phone number. Well, that won’t work. I have a new phone. So, I call customer service.
Amazon: Hello, so you can’t update your phone number?
Me: That’s right. It’s trying to send a verification text to my old number, which I don’t have. Can you help me put in my new number?
[After going through security questions.]
Amazon: Okay, great. We’ll just have to call you back at the phone number in your account.
Me: … That’s why I called, I don’t have that phone number anymore 🤦♀️
Amazon: Well, we need to call you at the phone number in your account.
