I read a variety of blogs and many writers feel despondent lately, for one reason or another.
They don’t want to blog about current events, and feel guilty for it. Or they do, but are afraid of being misunderstood (and dare I say… cancelled??). Some are struggling to make money blogging. Some just don’t know how to remain “cohesive,” or come up with “content,” or remain “consistent.”
All of that is understandable. But may I suggest a new approach?
Just enjoy π
What if you only follow the people you enjoy, instead of feeling obligated to follow-for-follow or follow-to-get-follows?
What if you blog about what you like, without the pressure of current events? Is your blog even a news blog?
What if you throw consistency out the window? Would that be so bad?
I just enjoy π
I like simple things: ramen noodles, movies, daily life. To be honest, I’m surprised and delighted that my follower count has reached double digits! I never expected that π
Thank you for following and sharing the simple things with me β€οΈ
I sometimes blog daily, I sometimes take a break, I sometimes do micro-blogs, I sometimes fill up eyeballs. Whatever I enjoy that day. So…
Enjoy! π
In the wise words of The Isley Brothers:
It’s your thing. Do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you who to sock it to.
Full disclosure: I don’t know what “sock it to” means. π€¨
When I read sad blogs, I want to reach into the screen and hug the writer and say, “Hey. It’s alright. There’s no need to be stressed and you can do your own thing and enjoy it. It’s all good.” [Kisses your little forehead π ]
μλ ! Bye! Ciao!

PS: Making money blogging is TOUGH. That’s why you see crazy headlines like “Spongebob is really a racist colonizer!” (I didn’t make that one up π£) For more info on how making money blogging really works (or doesn’t), check out the book Trust Me, I’m Lying by Ryan Holiday.

Thank you! I needed to hear that. Cancel culture doing my head in really. Whatever happened to agree to disagree and move on with your life??

Re sock it to – Iβve always thought it means to punch someone? Unless itβs some slang Iβm unfamiliar with?

I like this attitude of just posting what is on oneβs heart rather than trying to fit a mould that is clearly not you.
