I am learning 한국어! I want to share with you the easiest way to slip into this new language-learning experience 🙂
Tip #1: Learn the Alphabet, or Hangul
Hangul is pretty easy to learn ~ really, you would be surprised! It’s like learning your ABC’s. Once you have learned this foundation, everything else starts to become so much easier!
Tip #2: Use Drops to Supplement Your Vocabulary
I love, love, love the app called Drops to learn Korean words. It is easy to use, and you can learn a ton of new vocabulary in simple 15-minute intervals. However, I have android. Not sure if on iPhone.
Tip #3: Buy a Kit, Such as Living Language
To immerse myself in learning, I purchased the Living Language Korean Complete Edition. It’s a fantastic study system that includes tons of audio, so it helps with pronunciation, too.
Tip #4: Watch Korean TV!
This whole thing started with me watching Korean soaps and movies. They are absolutely creative and fun, very different from Hollywood stuff, and I fell in love with them instantly! 🙂 I watched them for a while with the subtitles, but then I thought… why not learn the language and just watch them?
I also watch Korean Vlogs on YouTube ~ the more conversation it has, the better!
Submerging yourself in a language is the fastest way to master it. I learned fluent English in the span of a year because I had no other choice 😂 And I did notice that my friends that avoided English took longer to learn the language. It only made it harder for them.
That’s it! You’re ready to learn a new language!
안녕! 👈 “ahn-yong,” like “aloha” it means hi or bye (informal/casual).
